Lake Tahoe visit , Spring 2010- Arrived at the lake shore before sunrise. The temp was freezing. Lake waters gently lapped the shores as pink streaks showed up in the sky. Truely mesmerizing! Took long exposure to add calmness to water. It was a little challenging to set the tripod on the sands. All of my shots are single shots. No fanciful photoshop alterations, No HDR. I prefer taking most of my pictures early morning or late in the evening to obtain uniform lighting, higher saturation, contrast. Raw images processed using Canon DPP.
Mount Shasta, a dormant volcano - Evidence of fumaroles on Shasta show that it is still alive. There are four overlapping cones and seven named glaciers on Shasta. Mount Lassen, an active volcano is about an hour drive from Mount Shasta. The last time Mount Lassen erupted was in 1915. There is abundant natural beauty in this area. Close to Lassen are Lake Manzanita and Burney falls.
