Jagged spires, open vistas and sparkling blue lakes of Eastern Sierra, home to the highest mountain range of contiguous USA are the highlights of my 2018 Photography adventure.
Sierra Nevada range from Mammoth Lakes to Lone Pine always fascinated me because of its majestic appeal as well as its striking similarity to the mountain ranges in the Himalayan rain shadow. I had planned my itinerary around full moon when photographing the Himalayan rain shadow in 2013. In 2018 I again picked full moon itinerary for Eastern Sierra because mountains look heavenly in moonlight !
Below are my favorite images. Do let me know which one is your favorite in the comments below.
Starry full moon night in the Alabama Hills
The moon shots have been taken on separate nights. Each morning I would leave the hotel at 4 AM and head to the Alabama Hills to witness the Sierra Nevada range glowing in moon light. The awe inspiring mountains with some of the highest peaks in contiguous United States looked stunning.
